Mrs. Dorothea Howard(formerly McGuire), founder and Chairwoman of Dorothea McGuire Foundation & President and CEO of McGuire Global Recruitment, is devoted to the improvement of health and has become intrigued with the mission and vision of the Institute. She has been afflicted for most of her life by sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease that causes non-cancerous lumps or granulomas in the lungs and other body organs. Sarcoidosis was once thought to be an uncommon condition, but it is now known to affect tens of thousands of people throughout the United States and many more abroad. Exposure to an environmental or occupational chemical (antigen) in a genetically susceptible individual is thought to trigger an immunologic response to produce this condition. Currently there is no known reliable method to prevent or cure sarcoidosis.

Having suffered with sarcoidosis, McGuire has expressed an interest in teaming up with the Institute to assist in raising awareness, increasing brand-recognition, and raisingcapital to support needed research for this and other diseases. She felt there werenumerous commonalities between her organization and the Institute-both were focused on making a real difference in the future health and well-being of the world.

As President and CEO of McGuire Global Recruitment, Dorothea leverages more than 25years of successful sales, advertising, public relations, strategic marketing, and recruitment expertise to help executive management proactively locate highly qualified job candidates and gain greater market share and visibility. She has a proven track record of significantly building client relationships, increasing company revenue, and assisting with professional staffing for numerous industries including pharmaceuticals. McGuire Global Recruitment also provides seminars in conjunction with their recruitment events thus allowing an opportunity for organizations like the Institute to share critical information with targeted audiences about their endeavors.

The Institute's research program initiatives are founded on an understanding that vital research seeking improved health for numerous diseases needs to be done in the areas of early detection, disease prevention, innovative targeted therapies, and cures.
